Southern Railway has invited online applications for 4,471 Act Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The training will be provided in designated trades at various Divisions, Workshops and Units under Southern Railway.

Age Relaxation
OBC (NCL): 3 Years
SC/ST: 5 Years
PwBD: 10 Years
PwBD + OBC: 13 Years
PwBD + SC/ST: 15 Years
Additional relaxation as applicable under Apprentices Rules.
Minimum Qualification
Fresher – Fitter/Painter/Welder
10th (Matric) Pass
Minimum 50% aggregate marks
Fresher – MLT
12th Pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Minimum 50% aggregate marks
Ex-ITI – Various Trades
10th Pass with minimum 50% marks
NCVT/SCVT ITI certificate in the relevant trade
Trade-specific subject requirements apply.
Stipend
Fresher (10th Standard): ₹8,200 per month
Fresher (12th / MLT) & Ex-ITI: ₹9,600 per month
Selection Process
No Written Examination
Selection will be based on:

Document Verification
Merit is prepared using qualifying examination marks after the prescribed conversion/weightage.
Important Point
This is an Apprenticeship/Training opportunity, not a regular permanent Railway employee appointment. Candidates are engaged for apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act.
