AGE LIMIT
Minimum Age: 18 years

Candidates must have been born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2009, both dates inclusive.
No upper or lower age relaxation is allowed for this recruitment.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Level 4 / Level 5:
Graduation from a Government-recognised institution.
Level 2 / Level 3:
12th Pass (+2) or equivalent, OR
Matriculation + completed Act Apprenticeship, OR
Matriculation + ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT for applicable technical categories.
Level 1:
10th Pass, OR
ITI/equivalent, OR
NAC granted by NCVT, as applicable.
Candidates awaiting final examination/result are not eligible.
SPORTS ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must possess the prescribed recognised sports achievements for the particular Pay Level, sport and event/position.
Recognised achievements must generally be from the current or immediately preceding two calendar years, beginning from 01 April 2024, and the candidate must be an active sportsperson.
SALARY
Level 1: ₹18,000 initial pay
Level 2: ₹19,900 initial pay
Level 3: ₹21,700 initial pay
Level 4: ₹25,500 initial pay
Level 5: ₹29,200 initial pay
Pay is under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
SELECTION PROCESS
There is no regular written examination.
Selection consists of:
Sports Trial
Assessment of recognised sports achievements
Assessment of educational qualification
Document Verification
Medical Examination
Marks:
Sports Trial – 40 marks
Sports Achievements – 50 marks
Educational Qualification – 10 marks
Total – 100 marks
Only candidates declared FIT in the Sports Trial proceed for further consideration.
Minimum qualifying marks:
Level 4 & 5: 70 marks
Level 2 & 3: 65 marks
Level 1: 60 marks
APPLICATION FEE
General/OBC/EWS: ₹500
Refund after appearing in trial: ₹400
SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: ₹250
Refund after appearing in trial: ₹250
The applicable refund is made after the candidate appears in the Sports Trial.

OTHER IMPORTANT CONDITIONS
Selected sportspersons must complete 2 years of probation.
A 5-year service bond is required.
Posting will be decided by Southern Railway according to available vacancies and other applicable factors.
