AFCAT Examination Pattern and Preparation
The AFCAT online examination covers Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude, and General Awareness. Previous year AFCAT question papers are readily available online and are the best starting point for preparation. The General Awareness section focuses on defence-related current affairs, aviation history, sports, and general science.
AFSB Interview Process
Candidates who clear the written examination attend a 5-day AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) at Mysuru, Varanasi, or Gandhinagar. The AFSB tests personality, leadership, and officer-like qualities through group discussions, psychological tests, and interviews. After AFSB, medical examination determines final fitness.
