The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for Circle Based Officer (CBO) Recruitment 2026. SBI invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment to the post of Circle Based Officer (Junior Management Grade Scale-I) across various SBI Circles in India. Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications online within the prescribed dates mentioned below.

A total of 2273 posts have been notified under this recruitment drive, including 2050 Regular vacancies and 223 Backlog vacancies.

Job Location

Selected candidates will be posted within the applied Circle only. Transfer outside the applied Circle is generally not permitted.

Age Limit (as on 31.12.2025)

Candidates must not be below 21 years and not above 30 years of age.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government norms:

SC / ST: 5 years

OBC (NCL): 3 years

PwBD: 10 years

Ex-Servicemen: As per rules

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Candidates with professional qualifications such as Engineering, Medical, CA, Cost Accountant, or Integrated Dual Degree are also eligible to apply.

Experience Requirement

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of RBI as on 31.12.2025.

Local Language Proficiency

Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and understanding the local language of the Circle applied for. Candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard will have to appear for a Local Language Proficiency Test.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed in JMGS-I with a basic pay of ₹48,480, and the pay scale extends up to ₹85,920 with annual increments. In addition, officers are entitled to DA, HRA/Lease Accommodation, CCA, Medical Benefits, PF, Pension, and other allowances as per SBI rules.
