State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB),Assam Police, Government of Assam, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment to the post of Constable (Unarmed Branch & Armed Branch) in Assam Police for the year 2026. Applications must be submitted online within the prescribed dates mentioned below.

Total Vacancies: 1715 posts.

Post-wise Vacancies:

Constable (Unarmed Branch – UB) – 1052 posts

Constable (Armed Branch – AB) – 663 posts

The place of posting will be anywhere in Assam. Selected candidates will be appointed on a regular/permanent basis as per Assam Police and Government of Assam rules.

Salary:

The pay scale for Assam Police Constable is ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 per month with Grade Pay ₹5,600, along with admissible allowances as per government norms.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• Constable (UB): Passed H.S. / Class 12 from a recognized board.

• Constable (AB): Passed HSLC / Class 10 from a recognized board.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026):

Minimum age: 18 years

Maximum age: 25 years

Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC/MOBC and other categories as per Government of Assam rules.

Other Requirements:

The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. Registration with the Employment Exchange of Assam is mandatory. Candidates must be able to speak Assamese or any other recognized local language of the state.

Selection Process:

Selection will be done through Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Examination, Viva-Voce/Interview, Document Verification and Medical Examination.
