The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (CHSL) for recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts including Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’) in various Central Government Ministries, Departments, Offices and Constitutional/Statutory Bodies.
A total of 2,536 vacancies have been announced for eligible 12th-pass candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Educational Qualification:
For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except specified DEO posts):
Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For specified DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts:
Candidates must have passed 12th Standard with Science stream and Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Candidates appearing in the 12th Standard/equivalent examination may also apply, provided they possess the essential qualification on or before 07 October 2026.
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01 August 2026.
Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1999 and not later than 01 August 2008.
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
PwBD: 10 years
PwBD (OBC): 13 years
PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India/SSC rules
SALARY
LDC / JSA: Pay Level-2 — ₹19,900 to ₹63,200
DEO: Pay Level-4 — ₹25,500 to ₹81,100
DEO: Pay Level-5 — ₹29,200 to ₹92,300
DEO Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4 — ₹25,500 to ₹81,100
In-hand salary will vary according to the posting location and applicable DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other benefits.

Negative Marking: 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer.
TIER-II EXAMINATION

Reasoning and General Intelligence: 30 Questions — 90 Marks
English Language and Comprehension: 40 Questions — 120 Marks
General Awareness: 20 Questions — 60 Marks
Computer Knowledge Module: 15 Questions — 45 Marks
Session-II:
Skill Test for DEOs: 15 Minutes
Typing Test for LDC/JSA: 10 Minutes
