Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a University/Institution recognized by the Government of India.
For JAA / Senior Clerk cum Typist posts, candidates must possess the required typing proficiency in English and/or Hindi on computer, as applicable.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 33 years
Age Limit: As on 01/01/2027
Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India / Railway Recruitment Board rules.
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST – 5 years
OBC (NCL) – 3 years
PwBD – 10 years
Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories – As per applicable RRB rules.
Salary / Pay Scale
Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor / Station Master (if notified): Level-6 – ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400
Goods Train Manager / Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist / Senior Clerk cum Typist: Level-5 – ₹29,200 to ₹92,300
In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive applicable DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other Railway benefits as per rules.
Selection Process
The selection process includes:
1. Computer Based Test – CBT 1
2. Computer Based Test – CBT 2
3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) – where applicable
4. Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) – for JAA / Senior Clerk cum Typist
5. Document Verification
6. Medical Examination
Final Merit: Based primarily on CBT-2 marks and CBAT wherever applicable. CBT-1 is screening in nature, while the typing test is qualifying.
RRB NTPC CBT-1 Exam Pattern
General Awareness: 40 Questions – 40 Marks
Mathematics: 30 Questions – 30 Marks
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions – 30 Marks
Total: 100 Questions – 100 Marks
Time: 90 Minutes
PwBD Candidates: 120 Minutes
RRB NTPC CBT-2 Exam Pattern
General Awareness: 50 Questions – 50 Marks
Mathematics: 35 Questions – 35 Marks
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 Questions – 35 Marks
Total: 120 Questions – 120 Marks
Time: 90 Minutes
PwBD Candidates: 120 Minutes
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Normalization will be applicable if the examination is conducted in multiple shifts.

General / OBC / EWS: ₹500/-
₹400/- will be refunded after appearing in CBT-1, after applicable bank charges.
SC / ST / PwBD / Female / Transgender / ESM / Minorities / EBC: ₹250/-

Important Eligibility Points

Candidates must be Indian Nationals or belong to other categories permitted under the detailed RRB notification.
For JAA and Senior Clerk cum Typist posts, typing proficiency in English and/or Hindi on computer will be tested through CBTST.
