Original content section (Why this job matters for Assam candidates):
The Gun Carriage Factory Jabalpur Skilled Tradesman recruitment 2026 is a solid opportunity for ITI and Diploma holders from Assam who are looking for a central government defence sector job. While Jabalpur is far from Guwahati, the consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 31,840/- is significantly higher than what many private sector jobs offer in Assam’s industrial towns like Bongaigaon, Silchar, or Tinsukia. Moreover, the 3% annual increment on basic pay and EPF benefits make this contract role more attractive than typical temporary jobs. For candidates from Assam who have completed ITI from institutes like ITI Guwahati, ITI Dibrugarh, or ITI Jorabad, and have gathered 2-3 years of experience in local workshops or small-scale industries, this is a chance to move into a highly structured Defence PSU environment. The trade test and written exam weightage (50% each) means that practical skills matter as much as theory – a plus point for candidates who are strong on the workshop floor. Since GCF provides EPF and accident coverage, Assam-based workers can get social security benefits that are often missing in state-level contract jobs. However, be aware that medical facilities and leave encashment are not available, so this is best suited for candidates who are young (under 35) and willing to relocate to Madhya Pradesh for a few years. If you are an ITI Machinist or Fitter from Assam with CNC programming knowledge, this could be your entry ticket to the Defence sector. Apply online before the 15-day window closes.
