UPSC Recruitment 2026 Apply Online for 194 Manager, Assistant Controller, Scientist, Engineer & Other Posts
Job Description & Details
Union Public Service Commission has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 for recruitment to 194 Group A and Group B posts in multiple central government ministries and departments. This recruitment drive includes highly reputed technical, engineering, scientific, teaching and administrative positions under the Government of India.
The UPSC Recruitment 2026 offers opportunities in departments such as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate of Coordination Police Wireless, Archaeological Survey of India and more. Candidates from engineering, science, technology and research backgrounds can apply according to their qualifications and experience.
This recruitment is especially valuable for candidates preparing for technical PSU and central government jobs because many of these posts provide Level 10 to Level 12 salaries under the 7th CPC along with government accommodation, pension benefits, medical facilities and strong career stability. Candidates from Assam and Northeast India often prefer UPSC direct recruitment posts due to nationwide posting opportunities and better long-term growth compared to contractual state-level jobs.
The Scientist-B and Joint Assistant Director posts are expected to attract a large number of applicants from Computer Science, Electronics, Atmospheric Science, Mechanical Engineering and IT backgrounds. Similarly, Airworthiness Officer and Deputy Controller of Explosives posts provide premium technical career opportunities with central government status and attractive pay scales.
Many vacancies also provide all-India service liability, allowing selected candidates to work in major Indian cities and government institutions. Candidates having teaching, research, industrial operations, mining, communication systems, meteorology or engineering experience may find this recruitment highly beneficial.
Applicants are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions, experience requirements and category-wise reservation details before submitting the online application.
